Effective date: August 27, 2026
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Emergency Briefcase (“Emergency Briefcase,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the Emergency Briefcase mobile application (the “App”), how that information is used and protected, and the choices available to you.
Emergency Briefcase is an educational resource. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and is not intended for use during a medical emergency.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following categories of information:
Account information
When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, unique account identifier, login credentials in protected or tokenized form, and account preferences.
Subscription and purchase information
If you purchase a subscription or other digital content, the transaction is processed by the Apple App Store or another applicable app marketplace. We may receive information such as your subscription status, product purchased, transaction identifier, renewal status, and expiration date. We do not receive or store your full credit-card or bank-account information.
Push-notification information
If you enable push notifications, we may collect a device or notification token and your notification preferences so that we can send messages to your device. You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
Technical and usage information
The App and its service providers may automatically collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the App. This may include device type, operating-system version, app version, language, general region derived from an IP address, crash information, diagnostic logs, timestamps, and interactions with App features.
Communications
If you contact us, we may collect your email address and the contents of your message, along with any information you choose to provide.
2. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to:
-
Create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts.
-
Provide App content and features.
-
Verify and manage subscriptions and purchases.
-
Send push notifications when authorized.
-
Respond to support requests and other communications.
-
Diagnose technical problems and monitor App performance.
-
Maintain the security and integrity of the App.
-
Improve the App and understand how its features are used.
-
Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.
3. Firebase Services
Emergency Briefcase uses Google Firebase to support App functions such as account services, data storage, notifications, crash reporting, diagnostics, and related infrastructure, depending on the App’s configuration. Firebase may process identifiers, device information, IP addresses, diagnostic data, usage information, and notification tokens on our behalf.
Google processes this information under its own privacy and security terms. Additional information is available in the Google Privacy Policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase.
4. How We Share Information
We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary:
-
To service providers: including Firebase and providers that host, secure, maintain, or support the App.
-
For app-store transactions: to Apple or another applicable marketplace for purchases, subscription administration, fraud prevention, refunds, and related support.
-
For legal or safety reasons: when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of the App.
-
In a business transition: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of some or all of the App’s assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not permit service providers to use personal information for purposes unrelated to the services they provide to us.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, maintain required business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and protect the security of the App. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to legal, security, backup, and fraud-prevention requirements.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
-
Update available account information within the App.
-
Disable push notifications through your device settings.
-
Manage or cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
-
Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting us at support@vegasbrownmd.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain processing. You may also have the right to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request or lodge a complaint with an applicable privacy authority.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
7. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Emergency Briefcase account using the account-deletion option available within the App or by emailing support@vegasbrownmd.com with the subject line Emergency Briefcase Account Deletion Request.
Deleting an account generally removes or de-identifies the account profile and associated personal information, except for information we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, or legitimate operational purposes. Information stored in backups may remain temporarily until those backups are securely overwritten or expire.
Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled separately through your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact support@vegasbrownmd.com so that we can review and delete it as appropriate.
9. Health and Medical Information
Emergency Briefcase is designed for education and is not intended to collect patient information or protected health information. Do not enter or transmit identifiable patient information through the App or through support communications. Use of the App does not establish a physician-patient relationship.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. International Data Processing
Information may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those locations may have privacy laws that differ from those in your place of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
12. Third-Party Links
The App may link to websites, references, or services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not govern those third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective or last-updated date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice within the App or by another appropriate method.
